Registered Dietitian & Eating Disorder Specialist

My name is Gillian (she/her) and I am a Registered Dietitian specializing in the treatment of eating disorder and disordered eating. I believe in your ability to heal and will hold space for you on the journey toward a more vibrant and joyful life.

Experience

I have been a Registered Dietitian since 2017, practicing in the areas of pediatric and adolescent nutrition, eating disorders and mental health. I previously worked at Seattle Children’s Hospital with adolescents experiencing both medical complications of eating disorders and co-occurring psychiatric concerns. I have also worked for over 5 years for an industry-leading eating disorder treatment center, caring for individuals of all ages and all genders. I have experience at all levels of care and with all eating disorder diagnoses.

Approach

My approach is highly individualized and will depend on your needs and desired outcomes. I see you as a person first and will meet you where you are every step of the way. Treatment modalities I lean on include:

  • Motivational Interviewing (MI)

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP)

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Family Based Treatment (FBT) informed care

Intuitive Eating & Mindfulness

I teach principles of Intuitive Eating in my work. This practice goes beyond recognition of hunger and fullness cues to explore how factors like beliefs, emotions, and environment impact our food choices. I also utilize concepts from ACT, a mindfulness-based approach to cultivating psychological flexibility.

Weight Inclusivity

I am aligned with Health At Every Size (HAES) and practice from a weight-inclusive lens. I also recognize that this may not be where you’re coming from. I will work with you to prioritize healing your relationship with food and your body above weight-focused goals.
